How to Make Giant Bubbles – Easy 3-Ingredient Recipe

Bubbles are a huge hit in my household—my kids love blowing them, chasing them, and in the case of my 10-month-old, even trying to eat them! So, I was thrilled to discover an easy homemade giant bubble recipe using just three simple ingredients.

DIY Giant Bubble Solution

What You’ll Need:

✔️ 1 cup Fairy dishwashing liquid (I’ve tested other brands, but this one works best!)
✔️ 2 1/3 cups tap water
✔️ 1/3 cup glycerine (available at most pharmacies)

📦 Storage Tip: Use an empty bottle with a lid, like a repurposed milk bottle with the label removed.

How to Make Giant Bubbles

1️⃣ Mix the dishwashing liquid, water, and glycerine together thoroughly.
2️⃣ Pour the mixture into your storage bottle.
3️⃣ Let it sit for at least 24–48 hours—the longer it rests, the better the bubbles!

How to Make a DIY Bubble Wand

You’ll need:
🪵 Two lengths of dowel (size varies depending on the child’s height)
🔩 Two eye screws (one per dowel)
🧵 Cotton rope (should just skim the ground when held in front)

Assembly Instructions:

  1. Screw an eye screw into one end of each dowel.
  2. Attach the rope between the screws using a simple knot.
  3. Dip the wand into the bubble mix, pull it through the air slowly, and watch massive bubbles form!

Tips for Perfect Giant Bubbles

🌦️ Best in humid weather – Dry air can pop bubbles quickly.
🐌 Move slowly – The slower you go, the bigger the bubble.
🔄 Practice makes perfect – It might take a few tries, but once it works, the results are amazing!

Making giant bubbles is a fun, budget-friendly activity for kids of all ages! Have you tried making your own bubble mix? Let me know how it went!
