Dinosaurs, Sand, and a (Not-So-Seaworthy) Baby Bath: Our Weekend Adventure

Some weekends are made for big outings and jam-packed schedules, and some weekends are made for pure, imaginative fun right at home. This past weekend, my little man and I had the best time creating our own adventures—no tickets or travel required!

Dino Fort Construction 101

It all started with an idea: a dinosaur fort. Because why build a regular fort when you can create a prehistoric jungle instead? We gathered blankets, pillows, and all the dino toys we could find, then set to work. The result? A masterpiece of engineering (if you ignore the occasional pillow collapse). Inside, we roared like T-Rexes, stomped like triceratops, and hid from an imaginary Velociraptor invasion. It was the kind of simple, giggle-filled fun that makes childhood magical.

Digging for Treasure (or Fossils?)

After our time-traveling dino adventure, we took things outdoors for some serious sand digging. Whether we were looking for buried treasure, hidden fossils, or just enjoying the feel of sand between our fingers, we had a blast. It’s amazing how something as simple as digging can turn into an epic adventure with the right mindset.

The Baby Bath Boat Experiment

Then came the ultimate experiment: could my son fit inside a baby bath and float around the pool like a pirate? Spoiler alert: he could not.

The plan seemed solid in theory—small tub, big water, what could go wrong? Well, physics had other ideas. As soon as he tried to set sail, the “boat” tipped, flipped, and quickly became a submarine. Luckily, he found the whole thing hilarious, and we both ended up laughing so hard we had to sit on the pool steps to catch our breath.

The Best Kind of Weekend

No fancy plans, no screens—just imagination, exploration, and a whole lot of laughter. This weekend reminded me that sometimes, the best memories are made in the simplest moments. Whether it’s building forts, digging in the sand, or testing (and failing) homemade boats, the magic is in the time spent together.

Here’s to more weekends full of wild ideas, big laughs, and just a little bit of chaos! 🚀🦕⛵
