Happy Homemaker Monday

Today I am linking up with Sandra over at Diary Of A Stay At Home Mom, for Happy Homemaker Monday.
d75a58b8dc30a275bb0ae1e281fdd130The Weather…

Back up to our low summer temperatures, today will be 27 degrees Celsius.

On The Breakfast Plate This Morning…

A cup of Nescafe coffee and a slice of strawberry jam toast.

Right Now I Am…

Chatting to my son about his opera rehearsal.

On My Bedside Table…

A bit cluttered at the moment! A phone, two iPads, mouse mat, computer mouse, wireless keyboard, coffee cup and two chargers.

On My Reading Pile…

Court documents and murder confessions as part of my writing course.

Movies Or Shows I Watched This Weekend…

Person of Interest.

On My TV This Week…

I am still wanting to watch the Lego Movie 2 and Crazy Rich Asians.

On The Menu This Week…

Monday: Tonight my son has a rather lengthy rehearsal for his opera performance, so we shall be having a simple dinner of toasted ham and cheese rolls.

Tuesday: Tonight is my sons opera performance, so another simple meal, steamed vegetables.

Wednesday: Tonight is my sons last opera performance, so another simple meal, this time pasta with steamed chicken. We’ll have a roast chicken for lunch, and use the leftover chicken with dinner.

Thursday: Spaghetti bolognaise with homemade garlic bread.

Friday: I will be making a large batch of homemade sausage rolls for my sons birthday on the weekend, so will set a few aside for dinner tonight.

Saturday: Today will be spent baking, carving and decorating my sons birthday cake (he has requested a hamburger looking cake), so dinner will be If It’s (if it is there, you can have it!).

Sunday: My sons birthday! His meal of choice, a full English! We shall be having baked beans, thick sausages, bacon, toast, English muffins, scrambled eggs, mushrooms, grilled tomato, Spam and Twining’s tea. All of his favourite things on a plate! And cake, naturally!

On My To Do List…

Edit my manuscript.

Do my entry for a writing competition.

Go to the bank.

Organize my son’s birthday cake.

In The Craft Basket…

More piecing and sewing of the crazy quilt.

More cutting and piecing of my sons patchwork quilt.

More cutting for my nine patch blocks.

Looking Forward To…

Making my sons birthday cake.

Looking Around My House…

It is full of lived in, love filled mess. Simply glorious!

From My Camera…

My precious boy, aged three days old! Almost 14 years later, and I still tear up when I see this photo! I was so desperately ill while pregnant, followed by an emergency birth that saw me needing several blood transfusions and my son needing time in the special care nursery, yet this, this, makes everything worth it.

What I Am Wearing Today…

Leggings and a summer dress.

My Simple Pleasure…

Talking to my son before he goes to bed. It is our special time to chat about anything bothering him, to discuss interesting news articles we read, or just to tell a joke or two.

Favourite Quote…

If it is meant to be, it will be.

Happy Birthday to your son! The children are what is most precious in our lives. All this food talk makes me itch to start cooking but too hot here right now. Have a great week

I hope your son has an amazing birthday! They really do grow up so fast.

Lego Movie 2 is great, not quite as good as the first one but I still love it. A full English sounds really yummy, I may have to check that out.

    Have a wonderful week!
