No, it’s okay, I am not intending to do away with anyone, at least, not in real life anyway! I am, however, intending to enter the 26th Scarlet Stiletto Awards, a women’s crime and mystery short story competition.
Open to Australian women only, the short story MUST feature a strong female protagonist, and prizes are awarded for first, second and third, as well as in several categories, including Best ‘Body in the Library’, Best Forensic Linguistics Story, Great Film Idea, Story with the Most Satisfying Retribution, and many more.
You can enter a maximum of two entries, previous winners have been librarians, teachers, union officials, public servants, psychologists, investigators, exercise instructors, mothers, and retirees.
There is $10,060 on offer in prize money.
Closing date: 31 August 2019, although electronic submissions are NOT permitted, so you need to allow for postage time.
