Thursday Throwback: Model Days

As a child I did some modelling work for Bunnings, a large hardware chain in Australia. I featured in a Mother’s Day catalogue as well as a television commercial. I was so excited, as my parents allowed me to keep $50 of the money paid (a lot of money back then), while they kept the rest.

Being all of five or six, there was only one thing my heart desired, a Cabbage Patch doll! My mother took me to the local toy shop and there were rows and rows of dolls to choose from. I opted for a bald headed boy, with chubby cheeks and a pacifier. Sadly, I lost him during my parents divorce and subsequent moves, but I never forgot him.
