The Russell Hotel

My son and I had the pleasure of staying in the Russell Hotel last week, and what a wonderful experience it was!

The Russell Hotel is literally a block from the International Passenger Terminal pier, maybe a 500m stroll, so perfect for cruise passengers!

The staff are simply amazing, very knowledgeable and helpful, and the hotel is spotless. The room we were in was right above the bar, yet we heard nothing during the night, which was nice.

The hotel has a bistro, a bar, and a restaurant, so it caters to everyone. The building is large and spacious, and very Victorian, with staircases (they do have a lift as well) and cute half landings. There is a rooftop terrace garden, a guest sitting room, and a laptop and wifi is provided free of charge for guest use.

The room we were in was very spacious, with two beds, a large armchair, dresser, wardrobe, drawers, TV, bedside tables, and a fireplace. The beds were soft and comfortable, and the carpet rich and plush.

There are various types of rooms, we chose one with a share bathroom at the end of the hall. It was shared by one other room, and every time we used it, it was spotless. The bathroom had a toilet, shower over a deep bathtub, mirrors, hooks, handtowels and bathmats, and shampoo/conditioner and soaps, so you don’t need to bring your own unless you are super fussy. Towels and face washers are provided in your room.

I wish that I had been staying longer, and I hope that I am lucky enough to stay here again.
